The Installation Project
"Please just make it work properly"
A brief but to the point specification was provided to us by the head of facilities at The Scouts. With some existing information and a few contacts, where set to work on getting this large scale CCTV system of over 70 indoor and outdoor CCTV cameras back up and running properly.
We had discovered a few issues with the existing system that quickly lead us the decision to replace most of the cabling, a few network devices and a large majority of the physical CCTV Cameras.
Discovery Phase Issues
Core network switch only operating at 100Mbps (not 3Gbps)
Cabling had been patched and joined in multiple locations
Existing cameras beyond service life
Amazing Engineers
This large scale CCTV system was well established when we where called into support with a number of issues that kept presenting. It was huge undertaking to fully understand and map this system, but with some perseverance, we cracked it!
The dedication to support the client and understand the issues they where experiencing was at the core of this project for our engineers. With this, we where able to fulfil our job specification perfectly.
Within a few days, a great number of issues such as VLAN mapping, physical connectivity and resource locations had been resolved. By the end of the project the system had been handed over to the client fully operational.
Great Training
Training is a massive focus of ours to ensure the systems we build are fully utilised. This project was no different.
For us to provide the best training, we first looked at the CCTV system in-depth, then after liaising with Client we where able to build the best training package for the onsite facilities team.
